Leukoplakia of vulva is one of the most complicated gynaecological diseases. The mechanism of the disease is believed to be as follows: 1. heredity or skipped generation; 2. auto-hypocrinism or endocrine dysfunction; 3. autoimmune dysfunction. This disease is of four types: the hyperplastic type, simple atrophic type, lichenoid constrictive type, and mixed type. The disease, however, is obstinate and complicated to heal. In the mildly affected cases, increased leucorrhea, titillation and pain are usually found; whereas for the heavily affected cases, pudendal hyperplasia, sclerosis, atrophy, hypo-sexuality or loss of sexuality are their common clinical manifestations. This disease, especially the simple atrophic type (without phanero-pruritus or light pruritus), if not given timely treatment, may result in such diseases as urethritis, cystitis and nephritis. Severe cases may cause atrophy of vulva, loss of elasticity, complete loss of labia minorae, clitoris adherence, urethral atrophy, urinary frequency, stenosis of vagina, ache from sex life, even with cleft in the pudendum, and furthermore, carcinomatous changes are likely to occur in the late stages.
Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine theory of identifying patterns and administering treatment, Dr. Li Xue-qing conquered this disease by treating the root and tip simultaneously with oral medication and external application. It is Dr. Li who promises that anyone with pruritus vulvae or severe pruritus accompanied by cleft in the pudendum, no matter how many years she has been suffering for, once diagnosed and treated by Dr. Li herself, can allay itching at the first treatment and heal the cleft in 18 hours; and that those with severe atrophy of vulva, can be expected to recover in several months.
For more than 30 years, Dr Li has healed over 16,000 patients in China and from abroad, of whom more than 13,000 were Chinese, more than 2,000 were overseas patients; the youngest aged 3 and the oldest, 72. All her healed patients were in high spirits and good sexuality, with all the pigmented spots or senile plaques on the face or on the body disappeared, and their dry skin became lustrous, their dried-up hair black and moist, their bowel freeing, their dry mouth gone. All the patients, once recovered, are not subject to such diseases as hypertension, hyperosteogeny, diabetes mellitus and hyperthyreosis. Dr Li's achievements have been successively reported by tens of Chinese newspapers and journals such as Health Daily, Guangming Daily, and People's Daily (The Overseas Edition). Besides, Huanghe TV Station made a special interview with her in 1995. Dr Li's deeds have been included in A Collection of China's Trans-century Famous Specialist Doctors edited by Mr. Qian Xinzhong, former minister of the Chinese Ministry of Public Health. In addition, she was awarded some international prizes
